Lots of Africa in DC economic activity this week – I’ll have a post on the South African Finance Minister’s remarks at the Brookings Institution up tomorrow and it appears that tomorrow will also witness an Americas – Africa Business Forum at the Organization of American States.

The US-based Corporate Council on Africa and The Africa Society appear to be taking the lead on the event along with the Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago in DC.  Incidentally, I’ve long heard of the existence of a large community of Nigerians in Trinidad, but I don’t know any details.

While the agenda indicates that Africa is well represented, the representation from the Americas appears to heavily favor the US and the Caribbean.

BTW, if anyone is interested in immigration from Barbados to Liberia, contact me at africaindc@gmail.com, as I once did a paper on that topic.
