The Wilson Center Blog, Africa Up Close, has a very interesting piece, “A Consultant’s Perspective: A ‘Window of Opportunity’ for Change in Mali” on Mali’s recent plunge into chaos.
I have no idea who the writer, Peter Bauman, is, but his candor is quite refreshing. One statement in particular is priceless: “Typically, by the time my contract is complete, I have only begun to discover how much I do not know.”
If even consultants are making these claims, why do we have a culture that so relies on their (incomplete) services? If only the NSA whistle-blower and Booz Allen Hamilton contractor Edward Snowden could have sparked debate on the consultancy industry.
