Following a SAIS lecture tomorrow on “Shrinking Democratic Space Ahead of the 2015 Elections: Re-engaging the International Community to Stabilize Burundi and the Region”, an alliance of Burundian opposition parties will meet with members of the Burundi Diaspora (hooray for their outreach!).
As an American who has been disenfranchised several times while living or traveling in Africa, I find the blossoming of US branches of African parties to be of great interest (as I’ve previously observed) and something predominantly positive. I’d love to do a profile of a DC branch of one, if anyone reading this is interested.
